Kiku Imports has brought the beauty of Japanese antiques and tansu to appreciative customers in the U.S. and beyond since 1988. We specialize in Japanese furniture (tansu), and carry a wide selection of antique folk crafts, lacquer-ware, textiles, dolls, ceramics, screens, scrolls, and basketry. As one of America's largest direct importers of antiques from Japan. Kiku Imports offers an impressive selection of beautiful items at very reasonable prices.
All of our tansu are unique. Most were made between 1870 and 1930. Each tansu is carefully and thoroughly restored. Our workshop in San Francisco employs twelve craftsmen who bring the beauty and functionality of antique tansu back to life.
Our extensive selection can accommodate a wide range of budgets. While we do carry exquisite museum quality items, many of our tansu are surprisingly affordable. Please browse our online antique catalog, and if you are in San Francisco, be sure to stop by our 10,000 square foot showroom and tansu warehouse.

ITEM OF THE MONTH
Antique Japanese Zushi shrine with twin Buddhas on either side of a devotional plaque. Images of twin Buddhas have been recorded in Japan as early as the Asuka period in the latter half of the 7th Century. The image may be understood as a prompt to remember that the twin aspects of enlightenment--the perfect Mind of Bliss of Amida Buddha, and the worldly truth of the Buddha Dharma--are really one and the same.
Above we have item number M4S109. Crafted around Late-Showa(1940's-Present), this Shrine is a rare find. Standing at 22"h x 13"w x 11"d this shrine is $3,500.
