Product Description

This gorgeous lacquered lunch box, jyubako in Japanese, is from the middle Meiji period (1880's-1890's), in good condition. Comes with five boxes in pile, two lids, and a tray. The motif on the front of lids and sides of the tray is called kamon, which is an emblem to identify an individual or family. This item is great on a table as an attractive object to look at or great for serving food to your guests.
