This Japanese antique Mizuya dates to the Late Meiji period (1890's-1910's). The elegant color tones of this Mizuya come from Hinoki (Cypress) woods. Mizuya Tansu was most likely used in the kitchen of a Japanese household for the storage of plates, utensils and food items. Since this chest has many types of drawers and cabinets, it is very useful for today’s modern kitchen to store dishes and utensils.this Item is from Gifu prifecture.
