Product Description

This is a vintage Japanese Cha Tansu, tea chest made of lacquered wood with Mother-of-pearl. It is used as an integral fixture for the Japanese tea ceremony. There are some nice paintings on the back wall inside the compartment.

Chests such as this were made to completely disassemble for convenient transport as well as storage. There are some scratches.
