Product Description

This is a Japanese covered box used to house letters and documents.  It was hand made and designed in Hakone, Japan using their famous traditional inlaid craft technique called Zougan.  The entire box was constructed out of Japanese Fir (Katsuranoki) and straight dovetail joinery was incorporated into the design for strength and durability.

The cover depicts a Sparrow perched on the branch of a Peony (Botan) flower with a neighboring red Camelia flower nearby.
