Product Description

This is an antique Japanese unusual Okidoko. It is an early type of removable alcove formed by placing a simple long low storage chest in the corner of a room and hanging a scroll of calligraphy above it on the wall. A flower arranged in an Ikebana vase was also often added.

 It was constructed of Maple (Momiji), Cercidiphyllum japonica (Katsura),Cedar (Sugi) woods.
