Product Description

This is a traditional Japanese shoe chest called Geta Bako. It was constructed using Cypress (Hinoki) and Akita Cryptomeria (Akita Sugi) woods.

These chests would be found at the house entrance called Genkan where guests and residents would take off their shoes to store them before entering a home.

These items from the latest shipment have not yet been restored. They can be purchased now prior to restoration and once the work is complete we will send  you photos of the item. If you are not completely satisfied, we will refund the purchase price.
