Product Description

This is a set of Japanese wooden Urushi lacquered food box. This special lacquer is called Shunkei- nuri,supposedly developed by a 14th-century monk named Shunkei, was a popular method in the 17th century of using clear lacquer to allow the natural appearance of the wood underneath to show through. All boxes come with dividers so food can be stored nicely. It comes in an original wooden box. There are some scratchers on the back of cover.
