Product Description

This is a 3 section vintage stacking Kimono chest called Isho Biraki Tansu.  It was made using 100% Paulownia (Kirinoki) wood Originally used to store Japanese Kimono and Obi, it would work well in today's home as a clothes dresser or linen cabinet for daily use.

The top section houses 4 slide out Obi trays behind the hinged doors with 5 small drawers along the right side where Obijime and other small Kimono accoutrements were stored. The drawers and trays are ideal for storing sweaters, shirts, blouses and linens in today's contemporary home.

Separating the sections allows for placement in different rooms which adds to the versatility of this chest.

It has an original sticker that it is from Takashimaya department which is high-end department store in Japan. It has a small repair.
