Product Description

This is an antique Japanese Mizuya tansu, Kitchen chest from Kyoto. This set stacks in two sections and features voluminous storage and traditional elegance.

It is made of Cypress (Hinoki),Cryptomeria (Suginoki) and Zelkova (Keyaki) woods. It used in the Japanese kitchen (Daidokoro), the bottom section held large jars of water for cooking while the upper section stored dishes, cookware, and utensils. All shelves are removable. 

These items from the latest shipment have not yet been restored. They can be purchased now prior to restoration and once the work is complete we will send  you photos of the item. If you are not completely satisfied, we will refund the purchase price.
