Product Description

This is an antique Japanese unusual Okidoko. It is an early type of removable alcove formed by placing a simple long low storage chest in the corner of a room and hanging a scroll of calligraphy above it on the wall. A flower arranged in an Ikebana vase was also often added.

It was constructed of Tamo (Japanese Ash), Tochinoki (Horse Chestnuts) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods.
