This is a vintage Japanese Kiri hibachi made of Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) with Makie. Originally, this container to hold burning charcoal was used as a heating device for the Japanese home.
It has Kiku, chrysanthemum in makie beautifully painted by hand.
Today, this very attractive object is ideal for a display of curios in your house or use as a planter. Some designs of mother of pearls and colors came off.
