This is an antique rare large hibachi, brazier made of Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) with beautiful cut-out lid of Kiku, chrysanthemum. Originally, this container to hold burning charcoal was used as a heating device for the Japanese home. It is made of solid kiri wood including the lid.
There are small dents. Today, this very attractive object is ideal for a display of curios in your house or use as a planter.
