Product Description

This is a vintage Japanese tea chest called Cha Tansu.  

Constructed from Persimmon (Kakinoki), Horse Chestnut (Tochinoki), and Paulownia (Kirinoki) woods, this cabinet was used to store tea sets and items used for tea service to entertain guests.  The shelves were used for seasonal display.
