Product Description

This is a Japanese display chest called Okidoko.  Constructed out of Zelkova (Keyaki) wood, it was finished with a natural clear Urushi lacquer to enhance the beautiful grain of the wood.

The Okidoko was typically used in a meditation or tea ceremony room called Tokonoma to display seasonal decorations with a sliding door cabinet for additional storage. 

*The height of bench surface is 10.5 " tall.

These items from the latest shipment have not yet been restored. They can be purchased now prior to restoration and once the work is complete we will send  you photos of the item. If you are not completely satisfied, we will refund the purchase price.
