Product Description

This is an antique Japanese 3 section clothing chest called Isho Tansu.  It was constructed from Paulownia (Kirinoki), Persimmon (Kaki) and Horse Chestnut (Tochinoki) woods.  The frame of the tansu uses thick Horse Chestnut and the drawer backs uses thick Paulownia wood for a very strong sturdy design.  All of the bronze fittings were hand crafted.

The three sections can be separated for use in different rooms or stacked for a roomy clothes dresser.
